Certification Program of laser-guided bombs FAB advances
The Brazilian Air Force held on Tuesday (1st May) of the first launch laser-guided bomb at the shooting range of SAICA, 110 km from the city of Santa Maria (RS) and the A-1 (AM-X ) aircraft as platform.
The launch is part of the certification campaign settings of A-1 armed with laser-guided bombs in Brazil. The guiding laser kit is installed in diverse general-purpose pumps (BAFG). Since the installation of the kits, the BAFG replaced by an excellent accuracy.
The flights are conducted with an aircraft A-1, the settings defined by the State armed the Air Staff (EMAER) and will be used for the modernization of aircraft (Project A-1M), running by Embraer.
Operation Poker is coordinated by the Department of Science and Technology Aeronautics (DCTA), with the participation of the Institute for Research and Testing in Flight (LSPI), Institute of Development and Industrial Coordination (IFI), Institute of Aeronautics and Space (IAE) .
Besides the DCTA, participate in the campaign the Squadrons 1 º / 10 º GAv, 3 º / 10 º GAv, 1 º / 12 º GAv, with the support of the Santa Maria Air Base (BASM), War Material Park (PAMB) and enterprises Aeroeletronica and Rafael. The certification flights will continue until May 10 in the town of Santa Maria (RS).
