A modernized Bandeirante
"Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technical capacity to do so. It will be much better than it was. " The above excerpt was inspired by a series of late 1970s, but it could have come from the mouth of an officer of the FAB when he saw the C-95C FAB 2332 belly landing with the landing gear retracted, the Air Base on 29 Afonsos May 2009. Little did the fact that 2332 would change its operating life, making it the first C-95M FAB. Incidentally, the cost to rebuild it was inferior to the famous "six million" of the show.
Yesterday, during the opening of Broa Fly-In 2012 the aerodrome Dr. Jos Augusto de Arruda Botelho (Itirapina-SP) had the pleasant surprise to see the full form in 2332. It was delivered on December 8, 2011 the 3rd ETA (Airlift Squadron), based at Air Base Squadron of the Galleon and responsible for the tasks of air transport under COMAR III (Regional Air Command).
As can be seen in the drift (photo beginning of this text), this is a modified C-95C. The final designation was C-95cm. Apart from the aircraft photos in this post, the 5th ETA also received a Bandeirante modernized (March 5 in the past), but it is the subvariant C-95BM.
The "Charlie" FAB is actually the military version of the Embraer EMB-110P1A. The plane has a series of internal improvements aimed at reducing noise in the cabin (remember that this is not a pressurized airplane), but the external characteristic which differentiates it easily from other versions is the dihedral of the horizontal stabilizers, slanting upward (dihedral positive) 10. This change also helped to reduce noise in the passenger cabin and vibration.
110P1A version, the last produced by Embraer, 12 units were built for the Air Force between 1988 and 1990. Based on C-95C também Bandeirantes other ten were built in the standard P-95B Bandeirulha. Therefore, they are among the Pioneers newest FAB and also will complete 25 years.
